Enaitz Iriondo and Tomas “not so” Delgado

Spanish driver Tomas Delgado is suing the parents of Enaitz Iriondo, a boy he hit and killed with his car in 2004. The driver wants the parents to pay $29,300 for damages to his “luxury” car, an Audi A8.

The accident happened when17 year old Enaitz was bicycling in the middle of the night. The youth was not wearing reflective material making it difficult for drivers to see him. At the same time, Tomas Delgado was driving down the road at an excessive speed. The two factors resulted in the driver being unable to see and avoid the teen in time, resulting in a collision. The absence of a helmet was also attributed to his death.

The family won a lawsuit against the driver in the amount of 33,000 Euros but now the driver wants some money back because “”I’m also a victim in all of this, you can’t fix the lad’s problems, but you can fix mine,” Delgado told the newspaper.”" The amount of the lawsuit, $29,300, includes the cost of repairs and cost of a rental car while his car is being repaired.

This is absolutely ridiculous. I can’t believe this guy had the audacity to sue the parents for the damage caused by him killing a teenager. I hope the case is thrown out in court but who knows. What is this world coming to?
