Target store misunderstanding the word “substitute”, believing it to be the same as “irrelevant and completely different product”

Apparently, a good substitute for a product like breath-freshening and tooth-whitening gum is a slightly chewy caramel product that will stick to your teeth and pull out your fillings. I know that when I can’t find the gum I want on the shelves, my next option is always the Milk Duds. Always. It’s basically the same thing!

Of course, there were still dozens of essentially identical “Big E-Paks” of different flavored gum.
