This story is a bit of old news but funny nonetheless. A Kentucky man broke into a home wearing nothing but a thong. When the owner of the house chased him off, the man left the video of himself committing the crime at the owner’s house, making it extremely easy for police to solve the case.
At 3am on September 20, 2007, Rodney McMillen broke into a Kentucky home. The man was armed with a kitchen knife and was only wearing a thong; at least he was trying to cover up a bit. Surprisingly, the home was occupied at 3am (shocker!) and the owner of the home was able to scare him away. In his flight from the home, the incredibly intelligent thief forgot to take the video he had been making of himself breaking into the house.
Police found the generous gift in the home after they searched the house. After reviewing the video, police were surprised to find video of the guy’s family at the end of the tape. He apparently never got the opportunity to record over this segment. Quick police work led to the identification of some of the family members, leading them straight to the would-be burglar who was hiding, of all places, in his mother’s house!
This guy seems pretty pathetic. I wonder if there was anything mentally wrong with him. Otherwise, what was he thinking? Also, would it have killed him to buy a blank cassette for the camcorder?
