Apple hearts OCU, and its student’s dollars!
Oklahoma Christian University has decided that it wants to give “all faculty and new students” a new Apple MacBook and either an Apple iPhone or iPod touch. While, this sounds pretty good, the money for these products are coming from somewhere, namely the students. Students would be required for activation and the service contract if they wanted to use the iPhone. Both would be used to incoporate technology allowing students to be connected campus-wide, freeing them from wires. Students were initially happy upon hearing the news, except Economics and Business majors who quickly realized who would be paying the bill. The English and Psychology majors are apparently still having the ramifications explained to them by others, with little success. Current students will be able to “upgrade” their laptop for a fee based on expected remaining semesters. That sucks. But soon every single student will be special and “unique” with their fancy school given Apple products!
