Google rendered in braille on the concept computer the “Siafu”.
It’s not often that something truly amazing appears in computer technology for the disabled, but the Siafu PC concept promises to bring people with vision loss a real computer experience. The Saifu will use a touch surface that uses a material called “magneclay,” which can morph upwards into any shape, allowing the Siafu to generate braille text and images (in a 3d relief). This PC would allow blind people to experience the web as people with site, allowing them to experience digital images for the very first time. This is just a concept design right now, but we really hope this comes to realization! We know this doesn’t seem that newsworthy, but the idea of bringing a real PC experience to blind people blows our minds. Of course, what the hell will “magneclay” be made of?
