This is one of the most disturbing stories we’ve ever featured on ITR, and quite sad. In Muncie, Indiana, a man was jailed after making his 7-year-old daughter kill the family cat, because he wanted to teach his children to “learn how to kill.” More disturbing details after the jump, but don’t say we didn’t warn you…

Danield J. Collins visited his two children at their grandparents’ house, reportedly drunk (according to the children). He gave his 11-year-old a knife and ordered him to kill the family cat. The boy tried to hide the cat under a sofa bed and put ketchup on the knife in a desperate attempt to trick his father, but Danield found out that the cat was not dead.

Danield then forced his daughter to hold the knife, and while holding her hand with the knife stabbed the cat. Later Danield strangled the cat and told his son to throw the dead pet in the trash. The 8-month old cat named Boots has been retrieved to be used as evidence.

Collins is facing a charge of animal cruelty, battery, and two counts of neglect of a dependent. He is being charged with battery because he allegedly injured his daughter’s hand while he forced her to stab the cat. This is a ridiculously sad story, and Danield’s actions have probably traumatized his kids for life.
