8 charges in one epic night, from arson to throwing bodily fluids

Dorrhon Lasseter probably regrets picking up one of these

Not many people will have as prestigious a night as Dorrhon Lasseter had recently. Responding to a fire alarm at the Lake View apartments in Gloucester Township, New Jersey, police stumbled upon the highly intelligent Dorrhon. Dorrhon answered the door to the apartment unit that was currently on fire, holding a crack pipe. As the police officers attempted to put him under arrest, Dorrhon resisted and reportedly spit on the cops several times during the struggle. That’s not the end of the story…

After being wrestled down by police and officially arrested, Dorrhon claimed that there was another person trapped in the burning apartment. The officers entered the smoke-filled apartment, desperately crawling on the floor looking for the additional occupant. No one else was found of course. After the fire was extinguished by the four responding fire companies they assessed that the fire had been intentionally set, most likely by the great Dorrhon himself.

Dorrhon was found to be possessing quantities of crack cocaine and marijuana, obviously key elements to his little self-starting fire party. Unfortunately, Dorrhon’s rambunctious night has resulted in a litany of charges:

  • Aggravated arson
  • Possession of a controlled dangerous substance
  • Possession of controlled dangerous substance paraphernalia
  • Use and under of a controlled dangerous substance
  • Criminal mischief
  • Resisting arrest
  • Obstruction of justice
  • Throwing bodily fluids at a law enforcement officer

Surely it’s not a record for charges accrued in one night, but few criminals can claim to have such an epic and prestigious night. That’s New Jersey for you.
