Frank Singleton, a criminal mastermind
A Florida man, released from a county jail for a trespassing charge, steals a car… in the jail’s parking lot… in front of cops. Maybe he should have called a friend, or a taxi?
21-year-old Frank Singleton is back in jail facing a felony carjacking charge after being released and trying to steal a car from the parking lot. Singleton was in jail for a misdemeanor trespassing charge but was released soon after. In an effort to get away as soon as possible, Singleton ran out into the parking lot and approached Justine Lapierre who was driving a manual transmission Nissan 350Z.
Singleton approached Lapierre and said “I want your car”. He then pushed her out of the way and tried to drive away but had no idea how to drive a stick. Officers nearby heard the noise and ran out to see what was happening. They rearrested Singleton and charged him with carjacking.
“I don’t think he wanted to go back to jail,” an officer said. “I think he really wanted to get away and was looking for a car.”
When the detective was making the arrest, he asked Singleton why he did this.
“I didn’t feel like walking,” Singleton said.
It’s understandable he wanted to leave asap. Who likes being in jail, you know? Maybe they should have called him a cab or something so he can be taken away but no, they made him look for his own way home. Whose fault is it, Singleton’s or the jail’s? We’re kidding. This guy definitely has a few screws loose if he had the guts to try to pull something like this off. A more intelligent criminal would have at least gotten outside of plain sight before trying to pull a stunt like this. Maybe this guy will learn a lesson and not make the same kinds of mistakes anymore. Maybe…
