It’s Truly! Random!

Guard gets romantically involved with inmate, helps some escape. Bad idea.

Amber Lynn Goff
Did love make Amber free two prisoners?

Amber Lynn Goff was a prison guard at the maximum security prison El Dorado Correctional Facility. Then she “fell in love” with a hardened criminal on the inside, Steven Ford, and helped him and another man named Jesse Bell escape the prison by using bolt cutters on a perimeter fence. They were all caught a few days later in Grants, New Mexico, but now Ms. Goff is not going to be guarding prisoners, but the one guarded.

According to Laurie Ann Nutter, Amber’s mother, Amber feels “like one of the world’s greatest fools. She realizes now there wasn’t anything real in the relationship. She feels so extremely foolish, she is angry about it.” We wholeheartedly agree, we can’t imagine anything more foolish then becoming “romantically involved” with a prison inmate. Normally they don’t send the best catches to prison.

Amber Lynn Goff pleaded guilty to a federal firearms charge as part of a plea deal. She is facing the possibility of five years in prison and three years probation, including $11,000 in restitution payments. These are only recommendations by the prosecutors however, and she won’t be officially sentenced until June.

Amber admits now that she was probably used. We don’t really feel sorry for her though, because a prison guard should probably expect the inmates to be a little conniving right?
