They may not win many wars, but France has a hot first lady!

If you were not aware, the French President Nicolas Sarkozy is married to a former-model, Carli Bruni-Sarkozy. For the French President it was his third marriage, and probably his hottest bride yet. A 13-by-10 inch nude photo of the first lady was purchased in a Christie’s auction for $91,000, much higher than the estimated $3,000 to $4,000 it was expected to garner. How much do you think people would pay for nude photos of American first ladies? I’d pay NOT to see those…

The photograph was taken in 1993, when Carla Bruni-Sarkozy was still a famous supermodel. It was an “art” photograph, part of a collection of photographs of famous models such as Gisele Bundchen and Kate Moss. Fortunately the auction was for a good cause, and the $91,000 will go to the Swiss charity Sodis, which apparently provides clean drinking water to developing nations. That’s nice!

The French may not have the political or military clout they had in previous centuries, but at least they have a hot first lady. Right? That’s important for the 12-15 year old boys in the nation.
