Most people know Alicia Keys from her music such as the debut hit single “Fallin’” and more recent hit “No One”, along with films such as “Smokin’ Aces”. One thing most people don’t know about her is that she’s a conspiracy theorist. In a recent Blender interview, Keys told interviewers “`Gangsta rap’ was a ploy to convince black people to kill each other. `Gangsta rap’ didn’t exist.” Wait, there’s more.

In another statement, Keys said,

“the bicoastal feud between slain rappers Tupac Shakur and Notorious B.I.G. was fueled “by the government and the media, to stop another great black leader from existing.”

Bearing a gold AK-47 pendant around her during the interview, which apparently symbolized “strength, power and killing ‘em dead”, Keys said she wants to move away from writing purely loved driven songs to more politically charged music. We personally like her songs so it’s somewhat disheartening to hear her considering moving away from such music. There is a chance the music would be as good as her current stuff but obviously that depends on her execution. Hopefully she veers away from other’s methods of filling music with curses.

Her mother was surprised when she was told of the pendent the daughter wears. The mother said it doesn’t sound like her daughter would feel that way but we guess she just doesn’t know her daughter THAT well.
