What’s a guaranteed way to not get your baby back? By throwing him in front of a social worker. At least that’s what an 18-year-old from Nottingham did during a visit with the baby’s foster parents. Apparently the woman was mad at the baby’s father and after a brief argument decided to throw the baby at him. Bad idea…
The baby, known as K, was taken away from the mother two hours after being born. Social Services felt the mother was unfit to be a parent and decided to take the baby away before the mother did something careless. That was a good call on their part. During an appeal, a judge overturned the decision because he felt the child was taken away unlawfully. An appeal by Social Services overturned that decision and placed the baby in foster care but allowed the baby boy’s parents visitation rights albeit supervised by social workers.
During one such visit, the 18-year-old, known as G, got in an argument with K’s father. The altercation became physical after the man threw a phone charger at G, which she promptly threw back, narrowly missing the boy’s head. She then got hold of the baby and forcefully placed him on a baby bouncer. At that point, Social Services feared for the baby and demanded G hand him over. Instead of handing him over though, G threw the baby at them. Yes, she literally threw the baby at social workers from about a foot and a half away. The distance does not seem like much but when you take the size of the baby and the fact that baby needs constant head support, a thrust threw the air like that could have easily broken something like his back.
Social workers noticed the mother threw the baby without regards to where he was going to land. After hearing of the incident, the judge that originally said removing K from his mother’s care was unlawful banned all contact between G and K until her mental stability was evaluated. Regardless, G insists she is fit to be a mother.
“In a recent interview, the woman insisted she was “a good mother” and denied reports that she suffered from mental health problems.”
OK, if you want to get your baby back, the absolute last thing you want to do is prove how unfit you are to be a mother. She straight up proved that by tossing the baby. Social workers probably came to the conclusion G shouldn’t have the baby once the argument between the boy’s parents broke out in front of them. The judge apparently gave G the opportunity to prove herself before the incident took place by having her take a course that assessed her ability to be a parent but as a testament to how bad of a parent she would have been, G stopped the courses after a whopping three whole days. Yeah, this girl is in for some trouble. She can probably count on any other kids she has to be taken away too.
