A Vancouver, WA boy is recovering after surgery to remove a foreign object from his head. The boy was with another friend at a neighborhood park when another boy became angry at them and threw a butter knife at the duo. The two were able to duck but one of the wasn’t able to duck far enough.
Tyler Hemmert and Nate Leach tried to avoid the knife but Tyler was unable to duck in time and it struck him in the head. He did not know what had happened until his friend Nate told him. In fact, Tyler said he experienced something similar to a bee sting. Tyler was quick to act and ran to get help while Nate ran several blocks to Tyler’s house to tell him father. The boy was quickly rushed to the hospital where it was discovered the knife managed to get stuck between the scalp and skull. How crazy is that?
Doctor’s numbed the area and removed the knife. The incident left no lasting damage but did require a few stitches. At least it’ll leave a cool scar. Imagine years from now girls are going to ask him what happened to his head and he’s going to be like “Oh, that little thing? Yeah, that’s from when I got a knife removed from my freakin’ head!”
Authorities got the kid who threw the knife and are currently debating whether to press charges. Debating? What’s to debate? He could have easily caused more extensive damage and should at least get punished for it. Anger management problems, anyone? We wonder what could have pushed him to react like this. One thing we all learned from this, apparently butter knives are not as safe as we once thought.
