Christopher Hollis – accidentally shot his friend in the head
A California man is in jail after accidentally shooting another man. The man that was shot was on the brink of being involved in an altercation with some football players when he called his friend for help. He told his friend to bring a gun just in case. His friend showed up and accidentally shot his friend in the head. What a help he was.
19-year-old Meleia Willis-Starbuck from Dartmouth College was about to get into a fight with some jocks from the University of California-Berkeley when he called Christopher Hollis for help. Instead of helping, Hollis showed up and fired a “warning” shot into the air but didn’t fire it high enough and struck his friend Willis-Starbuck in the head. Hollis said he wanted to scare the football players but epically failed to do so. Hollis was found guilty by a jury for assault with a firearm and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
How inept do you have to be to not be able to shoot OVER a person’s head? Maybe he tried to shoot close in an effort to make it more dramatic but that would have been stupid. He could have fired into the air away from the group, into the ground, at a tree, it doesn’t really matter but he especially shouldn’t have shot towards his friend. We think he lucked out by being convicted of assault and possession of a firearm considering he killed a person. Seeing how willing he was to shoot that gun, who knows if he would have been willing to shoot one of the football players. What do you guys think the sentence should be?
