Video: “Food Fight” – War in food

May 3rd, 2008 · No Comments

Food Fight is an abridged history of American-centric war, from World War II to present day, told through the foods of the countries in conflict. Watch as traditional comestibles slug it out for world domination in this chronologically re-enacted smorgasbord of aggression.

The 9/11 reference 2/3 through the movie is something else. Try to see if you can figure out all the wars being shown (hint, it starts with WWII and moves forward).

The movie chronicles American wars from WWII to the “second Gulf War”. Here’s a list of the wars (some having multiple battles shown):

  1. The World
  2. WWII
  3. Arab-Israeli War
  4. Korean War
  5. Cuban Missile Crisis
  6. Vietnam
  7. Cold War
  8. Intifada
  9. Gulf War
  10. 9/11
  11. Afghanistan
  12. Iraq War
  13. “Bug Food”

We love how the food represents countries. Hamburgers for America, sushi for Japanese, and other distinctive foods that match with nationalities and cultures found in different nations.
