“Do as I say, not as a do,” is an adage that fits perfectly for this story. In Riverdale, Utah, Police Chief Dave Hansen, a 23-year-old veteran, recently shot himself with a gun during a training exercise. While trying to show recruits the best way to fix a gun with a jammed round Hansen accidentally discharged the .40 caliber gun, hitting his ankle. He was taken to a hospital where he is stable condition. This all occurred in a conference room at Riverdale police headquarters. Hopefully in a few months everyone can look back and chuckle. This reminded us of the DEA agent who shot himself during a demonstration in a school classroom, and that was all caught on tape!
