Bank robber leaves personal info at the scene...you know, just in case

Employees of the Federal Credit Union in Charleston City were shocked when a man held the bank up yesterday morning. The man came in, poured a flammable liquid on the carpet, and gave a teller a handwritten letter telling her to give him all their money or else he’d light it. Employees complied and the man got away… except he committed one fatal mistake. Apparently, robbing the bank was either spur of the moment or this guy can’t even afford a blank sheet of paper because he used the back of an old cell phone bill to write the note. Yep, whatever you’re thinking is probably what happened.

The 41-year-old man was promptly caught by officials using the information listed on his bill. Carl Lee Mikell now faces charges of entering a financial institution with the intent to steal. This is another criminal that goes in our already long list of stupid and failed criminal acts. Nowadays you can find a blank sheet of paper anywhere. If anything, he should have used the deposit/withdrawal forms banks have when you walk in. A withdrawal form would have been better because he could have used the opportunity to be humorous by putting “Bank robber” as his name and “Everything” under amount, but no, he had to single-handedly cause his own demise. Oh well, we guess its for the best. Like an acquaintance says, “Just weeding out the idiots.”
