A family that went on a trip to the Maritime Aquarium in Norwalk, Connecticut had their trip “ruined” when the one-year-old child stepped on dog poo outside the parking garage. Now the mother, Kelly DeBrocky of Mahopac, NY, wants the city to pay her back for having to replace the child’s shoes and for the cost of parking and admission to the aquarium. Luckily, the city’s lawyer isn’t taking her crap and refuses to do so.
The city attorney’s quote is priceless:
“City attorney M. Jeffry Spahr said the official response is that her claim is denied and, in his words, “poop happens.”
The mother wants $54 from the aquarium, to reimburse her for her “toddler’s ruined shoes and the expenses for parking and aquarium admission”. We’re surprised she didn’t include emotional damages incurred by her tiny tot!
Why is she blaming the aquarium considering it has no control over a dog’s bowel movements? What’s next? Is she going to demand money because it smelled bad too? Someone should have told her that poop washes off with water so she wouldn’t have bothered replacing them.
It’s our honest opinion that the lawsuit is a piece of… _______.
