Too bad it’s only for dogs and is non-alcoholic. That totally defeats the purpose of beer but whatever. We imagine it’s more like root beer anyway. Pegged as a way for man and man’s best friend to enjoy leisure time together, the beer provides the dog with essential vitamins and minerals. The drink is meant for those people who, while savoring a cold one, wondered why no one has created a beer for dogs. That way, the animal is more like a person.

The drink is currently being tested at Pets at Home, a pet shop at the Meteor Centre in Derby, UK. The Holland makers of the product call it “Kwispelbier”, “tail-wagging beer”, and make it using traditional beer making processes involving malt barley extract. The makers believe giving the animal the drink make it more a part of the family.

They claim:

“While initially people may think of the drink as a novelty, it makes a delicious treat for a thirsty dog.
“It also encourages drinking, which is good for the kidneys, and is a great source of vitamin B.
“It means pets are even more a part of family life as they can enjoy a beer, too.”

We don’t know about you guys but we’re in. We’re just waiting for them to hit stateside. One question though, is anyone out there willing to try it, you know, just for kicks? Let us know if you have.
