Have you ever been driving wishing you were watching a re-run of Seinfeld? Well you’ll soon get your chance. Numerous states have passed laws banning the use of cell phones while driving, and surely more restrictions will be put into place if companies like USTelematics gets its way. The company plans to bring broadcast and video programming to in-dash televisions within cars, using a “mobilecast” program called 4VDO that can be used for more than just TV signals. They hope that the web, data, and music will all be accessed through the same means, all providing more distractions to already distracted drivers. As if dealing with drivers on cell phones wasn’t bad enough, now we’ll have to deal with drivers watching sitcoms and Deal or No Deal. Idiots already recklessly speed while watching DVDs, why make it easier?
