A Saudi Arabian woman is seeking a divorce from her husband after he tried looking at her face, which she keeps under a veil. The thing is, the couple has been together for 30 years and the woman has yet to let him see her. The 50-year-old woman is a part of a very small minority in the country that not only keeps her face concealed in public but also from her family. How does he cope with never being able to look at her face?
The family had been able to deal with the woman’s choice until last month when the man tried lifting her veil as she slept. Shockingly, the woman woke up and proceeded to freak out.
‘After all these years, he tries to commit such a big mistake,’ she told Saudi newspaper Al-Riyadh after leaving the house in disbelief.”
The woman is unwilling to forgive her husband because he had previously told her he was okay with her decision. The husband should have definitely known better than to try to sneak a peak. He went into the relationship knowing how things were going to be. Some of you may think the woman may be taking a religious practice too far but that decision was up to her and having a husband that won’t respect the decision is a little disheartening. Maybe she should give him a second chance though. We all make mistakes after all.
Unless she changes her mind, he’ll have to “face” the music.
