Police were called to the home of 73-year-old Bertha McElroy after neighbors complained about screams. Apparently Bertha and her 53-year-old son, Keith, got in an argument because Bertha felt like going au natural and decided to walk around nude. Unsurprisingly, Keith was disgusted at the sight of his naked elderly mother and told her to put clothes on. After the argument, Keith stormed out of the house and slammed the door. Then it got weird.

Bertha ran into her room to load a gun. It’s not clear what she intended to do with it though. Maybe the argument with her son made her feel like venting and she was going to shoot something, or someone. Whatever the case, while loading the gun, Bertha accidentally caused it to go off, striking her finger in the process. She was taken to the hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.

Unsurprisingly, police gave the gun to the son for safe keeping. Keith may want to consider taking his mother to a therapist after this. Who knows what she was planning to do with the weapon? Actually, he should go get checked out too. Unless he is his mother’s caregiver, what self-respecting man still lives with his mother, especially at that age.
