Keep your lawn looking like this or face a hefty fine and jail time!
The city of Canton, Ohio takes their grass-cutting seriously. Very seriously. The city council recently increased the fine for failing to cut your grass from $150 to $250 (have you ever heard of a “failure to cut grass” fine before?). The worst violators, those who wantonly disregard their lawn’s appearance, face up to 30 days in jail for their recalcitrant behavior. Apparently crime, drugs, and other things aren’t that big of an issue, as the Mayor William Healy considers this essential “in order to clean up our neighborhoods and our city.” If a city’s only problem is unkempt lawns and rosebushes growing wildly, they are doing pretty good. The law takes effect in 30 days, so the lazy of Canton have a few weeks to get their grass in order…
