A girl from Salley, South Carolina nearly died after shooting herself with a gun. The girl was only 4-years-old! She was with her grandmother at a local Sam’s Club when she decided to pull out granny’s small-caliber handgun out of her grandmother’s bag. The girl then fired the gun into her chest.The bullet hit no major organs thankfully, and the child is in stable condition after undergoing surgery. Surveillance cameras caught the whole incident, but obviously that will never be released. The grandmother, Donna Hutto Williamson, is a magistrate judge, and we judge that even though she had a concealed weapons permit, her granddaughter shouldn’t have been capable of shooting herself with the gun (a safety should have been installed and active, or the grandmother should have kept a better eye on the girl). We are just thankful that the girl survived.
